My name is Rick Rosenthal. I practice law and I'm partner at the law firm of Edgar Snyder & Associates in Pittsburgh. I've been practicing law as a senior litigator in the western 27 counties of Pennsylvania since 1980. I grew up in a poor family and we didn't have an attorney. When my father got sick and we needed help, we had no one to go to. As I got older and saw that attorneys actually help people, I wanted to do that type of work. For the first 10 years that I was a litigator, I represented government agencies, represented corporations, and I represented individuals—all who were being sued. I knew what the defenses were. I knew which defenses were actually good ones, and I knew which defenses really weren't. Now that I practice law in the plaintiff side, and I'm representing individuals who have been injured, I understand where the defenses that the defense is making actually apply—and when they don't.
