The Public Asks Edgar

By:

Have you ever wanted to ask Edgar Snyder a question?

Every month, Pittsburgh Today Live (PTL) puts on a law segment called “Straight to the Point.” This month, Edgar Snyder & Associates’ Firm Founder, Edgar Snyder, appeared on PTL for a Q&A session hosted by David Highfield and Ron Smiley, though they didn’t come prepared with their own questions. The questions being asked were submitted by Pennsylvania residents! Hundreds of PA natives submitted their burning questions for Edgar to answer. Whether serious or silly in nature, Edgar came prepared to deliver answers to the public.

Ron Smiley of PTL kicked the segment off by asking Edgar how he felt about being a Pittsburgh staple.

“It’s incredible,” Edgar said, “over the years having been around…I found that if you live long enough and you are from Pittsburgh and you’re on television and in commercials, you become the fabric of Pittsburgh, and I think it has to do with people growing up watching me become part of their life.”

Ron and David continued cycling through questions for Edgar that were submitted by people across the state. One Erie native, who goes by the name of Sarah, asks Edgar why he became a lawyer.

“You want the real reason?” Edgar asked.

“Yes, of course!” Both Ron Smiley and David Highfield of PTL responded eagerly.

“I wanted to be a doctor…I got a D in chemistry 101…so my medical career was over,” Edgar says. He then recounted what his father, a first-generation college student, told him as a kid. “He said to me, ‘are you going to become a lawyer or a doctor?’ Since I wasn’t going to become a doctor, I became a lawyer. There’s a lot of humor in that but also a lot of truth to it.”

The Q & A doesn’t end there! To see Edgar’s answers to the following questions, watch the full video here!
