Bases for Bikes With the Altoona Curve

We're Proud Partner with the Altoona Curve

In any baseball game, one of the most exciting moments comes when your team risks it all to steal a base. Seeing that player take off in stride – chancing his luck against the pitcher – all to get one more base for his team.

With that feeling in mind, we're excited to tell you about our partnership with the Altoona Curve and Variety the Children's Charity. For each base stolen by an Altoona Curve player during home games this season, we'll donate $50 to Variety.

This is the seventh year of "Bases for Bikes," which we created to support Variety's "My Bike" program. This amazing program provides adaptive bicycles to children with disabilities. Each and every child deserves the chance to feel the wind in his or her hair along with the fun and adventure of riding a bike.

Turning Stolen Bases into Home Runs

Adaptive bicycles can cost nearly $1,800 each. Our law firm – along with the Altoona Curve – think that price shouldn't prevent some families from providing their child with an adaptive bike.

Some of us at the law firm have had the privilege of seeing the kids' smiles when they ride their new bicycles for the first time. We're proud to support Variety's "My Bike" program and started funding adaptive bicycles in 2012. From there we've expanded our partnership to include the Erie Otters "Power Plays for Kids," and now we're partnering with the Altoona Curve.

If you know a child that could benefit from the "My Bike" program or you would like to make a donation, please call 412-747-2680 or visit Variety's website. Our goal is to provide our local children with the specialized bikes they need. Since these wonderful kids have stolen our hearts, we've decided to steal bases for adaptive bikes.
