Braking Bad: Suzuki Motorcycle Recall

Suzuki Recalls 210,288 Motorcycles Due To Defective Brakes

street bike

Contrary to the fictional situations portrayed in the hit television drama "Breaking Bad," Suzuki Motor of America Inc. is experiencing a real-life version of "Braking Bad "as they recall thousands of motorcycles due to dangerous brakes.

Suzuki claims the reason for the recall of 210, 228 motorcycles in the United States stems from the possibility that the front brakes might not work properly and potentially pose a significant danger to riders. According to the company, a dangerous gas can form inside of the front brake master cylinder, which may reduce braking power and increase the risk of a crash.

Recalled motorcycles include:

  • GSX-R600 motorcycles from the 2004-2013 model years
  • GSX-R750 motorcycles from the 2004-2013 model years
  • GSX-R1000 motorcycles from the 2005-2013 model years

Suzuki maintains that no related injuries have been reported to date. The manufacturer plans to notify owners starting next month, and dealers will replace the front brake master cylinder free of charge.
