Edgar Snyder & Associates helped to make a child's wish come true by donating $3,900 to the organization. This was the result of a Facebook campaign, where we donated $1 for every "like" on our Facebook page. Not only were we able to help grant a wish, but we were able to raise awareness of the amazing and inspiring work they do at the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Greater Pennsylvania and Southern West Virginia.
Our donation helped a child with a life threatening medical condition fulfill her wish of traveling to Disney. Here is a touching letter we received from Make-A-Wish when the family returned home:
A 10-year-old girl diagnosed with rhabdomyosarcoma, a cancer of the skeletal muscle tissues, loves listening to pop music and the color green. She likes to spend her free time playing video games and reading books. She is an animal lover and loves learning about alpacas.
Although this special wish kid originally wanted to go to a Dude Ranch, she changed her mind and recently went to sunny Orlando to visit Walt Disney World Resort!
This special little girl escaped the cold Pennsylvania weather when she jumped on a plane to Florida in January. When she arrived with her family, she stayed at the Give Kids the World Village, a special resort for kids just like her. While she was staying at the Village, she played mini-golf, swam in the gigantic swimming pool, and even got to put a star with her name on it on the ceiling in the Castle of Miracles.
When she wasn't playing and relaxing at the Village, this active wish kid was exploring all of the magic at the different Disney theme parks. She discovered the enchanted castles at Magic Kingdom, traveled the world at Epcot, and even visited Disney's Animal Kingdom Park!
Since she loves animals so much, she even got a behind the scenes look at SeaWorld. This little girl loved spending time with her family and learning about the different animals in the parks.
After their exciting week in Florida, this little girl and her family packed up to come home. They laughed and smiled as they talked about all of their favorite parts of their trip. It was hard to pick just one favorite part! This wish kid got a chance to relax and enjoy the princess lifestyle, which is a magical dream come true!
Since 1980, the Make-A-Wish Foundation has sought to grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength, and joy. The Foundation's mission reflects the life-changing impact that a Make-A-Wish experience has on children, families, referral sources, donors, sponsors, and entire communities.
