Save A Life Tour

Working With Local Students to Prevent Dangerous Driving

Car accidents are the number one cause of death for teenagers in the United States. It's a devastating problem that continues to impact our communities, our families, and our lives. But it's a preventable problem, and one that we've long committed to stopping.

With the help of students from around Western Pennsylvania, we have fought against the tragedies caused by drunk and distracted driving. Our Save a Life tour featured state-of-the-art, multi-media presentations to connect with students and illustrate the dangers of risky driving decisions.

Engaging Students to Take a Stand

The National Make a Different Save a Life Tour is a high-impact alcohol awareness program featuring the most realistic, sophisticated drunk driving simulator in the country. The Save a Life Tour brings over 1.2 million dollars worth of the most advanced technology and multimedia information systems right to your campus and presents a life-saving anti underage drinking and anti drunk driving message with an impact your students will never forget. The message presented is graphic and sometimes difficult to watch, but the message we're trying to convey should not be easy or forgettable. We talk about death and injury due to alcohol and show firsthand the devastating effects of drinking and driving using real life examples. This is it, in your face date with reality, not a lecture, but a life-saving event presented in a form that students can identify with.

Our one-of-a-kind demonstration featured cutting-edge driving simulators that gave students the first-hand experience of the effects of drunk driving. With slowed reaction times, impaired vision, and more, these teens were able to see the true dangers of driving drunk.

There were distracted driving simulators as well. They provided students with the opportunity to witness how texting while driving affected their response time, road awareness, and more.

Along with the simulators, students witnessed graphic, realistic videos of actual DUI & distracted driving accidents and emergency room scenes. They also heard real testimonials from victims of these driving accidents. The Save a Life Tour created powerful, lasting impressions on teens who might otherwise have been unaware of the serious risks posed by drunk or distracted driving.

Just see what the students had to say:

"It really gave me a reality check. I will walk away and remember what I saw."

"More real than others I've seen. It doesn't sugarcoat anything."

"I always knew there was drunk driving, but this made it real."
