TakeOff Memorial Walk/Race

Trooper Iwaniec 5K/10K TakeOff Race

Joining Together In Memory of Drunk Driving Victims

For the 5th year in a row, community members gathered together at St. Vincent College of Latrobe, PA, for the TakeOff 5K/10K race that honors the memory of fallen Pennsylvania State Trooper Kenton Iwaniec. Trooper Iwaniec was killed in 2008 after a head-on collision with a drunk driver at the end of his shift.

Edgar Snyder & Associates is proud to sponsor and participate in this wonderful event. The TakeOff race serves not only as a memorial to Trooper Iwaniec and other victims of drunk driving accidents, but it also raises awareness in the community.

By stressing the importance of responsible decision making as an effective tool to reduce drinking and driving accidents, Trooper Kenton's family hopes to curb the number of DUI accidents that affect every community.

A Beautiful Day to Rally for Our Fallen Friends

Trooper Iwaniec 5K/10K TakeOff Race

With the sun shining and the temperatures in the low-70s, the TakeOff race was a great success. Starting at 9:15, families and runners alike from around the area took to the course as either 5K, 10K, or 1-mile walk participants.

The top 3 male, female, and police officer participants received awards, as well as all of the kids who participated in the TakeOff race. It's a great event to get some exercise and spread the message to fight against drunk driving.

With the money raised from the TakeOff race registrations and sponsor donations, the Trooper Kenton Iwaniec Foundation was able to purchase and provide state police with portable breathalyzers. A few members of our staff were available to present these DUI prevention tools to several law enforcement agencies.
