Power Woman of the Week: Attorney Cynthia Danel
To commemorate Women's History Month, throughout March we will be spotlighting some of the amazing "Power Women" of Edgar Snyder & Associates. First on our list: Attorney Cynthia Danel.
Attorney Danel is a partner here at the firm. She was the first attorney Edgar hired when he began to expand his law practice in 1982. This makes Attorney Danel the very first "Associate" to ever be a part of Edgar Snyder & Associates, and she has been dominating the legal field ever since.
Before earning her Juris Doctor from Duquesne University School of Law, Attorney Danel earned both a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degree in Speech Communication from Pennsylvania State University. That University has since distinguished Attorney Danel as an Alumni Fellow and honored her with an Outstanding Alumni Award.
A Legal Powerhouse in Pittsburgh
The awards and accolades for Attorney Danel don't end there. Best Lawyers in America® selected Attorney Danel as their 2012 "Pittsburgh Personal Injury Litigation Lawyer of the Year." She has been selected on the Pennsylvania Super Lawyers List for the past decade. In addition, she has received special honors on the list of Top 100 Attorneys in Pennsylvania, as well as the Top 50 Women Attorneys in Pennsylvania, and the Top 50 Attorneys in Pittsburgh.
During her time at Edgar Snyder & Associates, Attorney Danel has proved to be a powerhouse in the Pittsburgh law community. She has tried numerous cases to verdict before juries in Allegheny County and throughout Western Pennsylvania. She has mediated and settled thousands of cases for individuals hurt in many types of accidents, resulting in substantial recoveries for her clients. She has also successfully argued cases before both the Superior and Supreme Courts of Pennsylvania. Attorney Danel's professional accomplishments have even been featured in our commercials.
Attorney Danel has an AV® Preeminent™ rating from Martindale-Hubbell, the highest possible rating based on legal ability and general ethical standards. She is also board-certified as a Civil Trial Advocate from the National Board of Trial Advocacy.
Work in the Community
Attorney Danel gives back to her community in a variety of ways. She recently appeared in a PSA to support Variety the Children's Charity's "My Bike" Program. This program provides adaptive bicycles to children with disabilities in Pittsburgh and throughout Western Pennsylvania.
Attorney Danel is also involved in volunteer initiatives during her free time. She participates in the Make-A-Wish Foundation®, the Greater Pittsburgh Literacy Council, and the Pennsylvania State University Career Counseling Panel. She has also served as a judge participant in the Allegheny County High School Moot Court Competition, the University of Pittsburgh Moot Court Competition, and is a former chairperson of the High School Essay Contest run by the Western Pennsylvania Trial Lawyers Association.
