Grace's Holiday Wish: For All To Have Shelter, Food, and Friendship
"Welcome to the igloo for the homeless," is the message displayed on a snowman's sign in Grace's imaginative winter scene. In her drawing, penguins in winter hats help each other by providing food, shelter, and friendship.
Dan Jasper, Grace's father, says that Grace has shown an interest in art since pre-school and is constantly improving. "She was all smiles when we got the news. She hasn't thought about the gift card yet—I think she is just happy she was picked."
In addition to art, Grace's interests include girls' softball and dance, which she has been involved in for a number of years.
Mr. Jasper also shared a special wish this holiday season: "Our wish for our community is for everyone to have their needs met and to remember where it all comes from and be thankful."
Trey's Holiday Wish: For Snowmen to Lend a Helping Hand
Trey's illustration displays colorful handprints, snowmen, and snowflakes, and reads, "My Holiday Wish is for Snowmen to Lend a Helping Hand."
When asked about the inspiration behind his art, Trey responded,"I like when my friends help me at school and I want to be helpful to other kids, too! It is nice when people help each other."

"The smile on Trey's face when I told him that he won this contest was priceless!" said Melanie Trybus, Trey's mother. "Trey was definitely beyond excited when he heard this wonderful news. He ran around the house chanting, ‘Yes, I won! Yes, I won!'"
