Edgar Snyder & Associates Voted as a 2013 Top Workplace in Pittsburgh

top workplaces award 2013

Intimidating atmosphere, insufficient benefits package, weird-tasting coffee: if given the chance to anonymously provide feedback about their workplace, many employees wouldn't hesitate to list any number of grievances they may have.

This is the reason why receiving Pittsburgh Post-Gazette's Top Workplaces Award for the third year in a row makes us so proud here at Edgar Snyder & Associates. Recipients of the award are not chosen by a panel of judges, nor selected by the Post-Gazette. Those who choose the top places to work in Pittsburgh are the very people who dedicate their lives to working in these workplaces themselves. The employees of Pittsburgh's companies designate the Top Workplaces by anonymously providing feedback about where they work through a survey conducted by the Post-Gazette's research partner, WorkplaceDynamics.

Earlier this year, employees voted and commented anonymously on the level of leadership, communication, opportunity, atmosphere, and pay and benefits they have with their employer. WorkplaceDynamics and the Post-Gazette then compile this information and those businesses with the highest scores make the Top Places to Work list and receive the Top Workplaces Award.

Employers in the medical and educational sectors usually comprise the majority of Pittsburgh's Top Workplaces, while typically law firms scarcely appear on the list. This makes me even more proud that our law firm received this award again this year.

I take particular delight in this award because our employees provided feedback anonymously, and if they didn't feel that our firm was a great place to work then we would not have been included on the list. When this law firm began in 1982, one of our goals was to make it a workplace where employees wanted to stay. Today, I'm pleased to say that Edgar Snyder & Associates is a place with many people who have worked here for 5, 10, 15, and even 20 years. By the end of this year, 18 employees will have been here for 20 years or more!

I truly appreciate our staff and believe that satisfied, productive employees are the reason that our firm has been successful. Employees arrive here each day striving to make a difference in the lives of injured people.
