It's hard to believe it's been nearly 10 years since the attacks of September 11. All over the country people are remembering those who died at the hands of the terrorists, but they're also remembering bravery.
The Let's Roll Flight 93 Memorial Ride will do both by honoring the 40 men and women who fought against the terrorists who hijacked their plane and brought it down in rural Shanksville, PA – losing their lives in the process.
This very special motorcycle event will take place Sept. 10-11, and will pay tribute to the crew and passengers of Flight 93 and raise money for the Flight 93 Memorial. The ride will be organized into groups of 40 riders at different "flight path" locations, and each sponsored motorcycle will carry a flag with the name of one of the Flight 93 heroes. National country recording artist Darryl Worley will perform live at the Seven Springs Resort at 8:30pm on Saturday, Sept. 10. There will also be a memorial service at 9:30am on Sunday, Sept. 11.
I am happy to say that the official Edgar Snyder Harley Davidson will be one of the 40 bikes representing the heroes of Flight 93.
We will be honoring Patricia Cushing and by taking part in the Cranberry/Pittsburgh flight path location. Patricia was from New Jersey and was traveling with her sister-in-law, Jane Folger, to visit San Francisco for the first time. She was widowed in 1988 and left behind five children. Her family says that she never had a bad word to say and was upbeat, no matter what.
If you would like to make a donation to the ride, you can visit the Let's Roll Flight 93 Memorial Ride website.
As you remember the victims of September 11 and the attacks that changed our lives, remember Patricia and the bravery of those on Flight 93.
