Today I'd like to share with you another project from one of our scholarship winners. Erin Kaminski, a recent graduate of Moon Area High School, created a very informative video featuring statistics and facts about what happens as alcohol enters your body.
I find it scary that close to 75% of students have consumed alcohol by the end of high school, and that close to 40% have done so by eighth grade. What would you do if it was your child or your friend drunk behind the wheel?
I believe knowledge and education is key in teaching young people about the dangers of alcohol and drunk driving. Thanks to Erin's project, a young driver might say no when offered a drink, or think twice before getting into a car with someone who is under the influence.
Congratulations to Erin, who will be heading to Ohio State University very shortly. Thank you for encouraging others to take a STANDD against drunk driving and distracted driving.
