A few weeks ago I posted a blog congratulating this year's Words to be Heard Scholarship Contest winners. Each year we ask graduating seniors who plan to attend a four-year college or university to submit a project that discourages underage drinking and texting while driving.
Our 2011 winners' projects were well-planned and researched thoroughly. But what's really remarkable about them is the harsh truths they tell about the tragedies that happen when people text while driving or get behind the wheel when they've been drinking.
Katie Bergman, a recent graduate of Hampton High School, was one of our Pittsburgh-area winners. This young lady's video on texting while driving speaks for itself. It really hits home and will make you think twice whether sending a text is worth someone else's life – including your own. Take a look…
Watch for more posts about our other 2011 winners and their projects coming soon. And remember to 'like' our Edgar Snyder & Associates fan page on Facebook to sign the Don't Drink & Drive and Don't Text & Drive pledges. You could win a Flip™ HD video camera!
Congratulations to Katie, and thank you for sharing the dangers of texting while driving.
