Recently I had the pleasure of meeting bright and talented high school seniors who were the winners of our "Words to be Heard" College Scholarships. We hosted a dinner in their honor, and I think everyone had a great time.
"Words to be Heard" is a scholarship contest we hold each year, where we ask graduating seniors who plan to attend a four-year college or university to submit a project that discourages underage drinking and texting while driving. Since we launched the scholarship contest five years ago, we've awarded $55,000 to 48 students in western Pennsylvania.
I'd like to thank all of the scholarship winners and everyone who submitted an entry. Our law firm sees the tragedies of drunk driving and underage drinking firsthand every day – that's why we firmly believe the solution lies in education and through those who stand up for their friends' safety. Thank you for your participation.
You can visit our firm's website if you'd like to learn more about Words to be Heard and to read about this year's winners and their proposals.
Check out the video that was played at the dinner. Congratulations once again to the winners!
