Pennsylvania Among Deadliest Drunk Driving States

drunk driving

Did you know that Pennsylvania is the fourth deadliest state in the country when it comes to drunk driving deaths? That's right, drunk drivers kill more people in our state than almost anywhere else in the United States. Furthermore, Allegheny County has the second highest number of drunk driving deaths in the state. It's something to keep in mind, especially during St. Patty's Day celebrations.

According to the most recent data from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, drunk driving resulted in 406 deaths in Pennsylvania in 2009. That's almost one-third of all traffic fatalities in the state. And this number doesn't take into account all of the people whose lives are changed forever due to injuries sustained in drunk driving accidents.

I can't say it enough – don't drink and drive. The few moments it will take you to figure out a safe way to get where you need to be can literally save a life.
