Almost 500,000 Burlington Basket Company Bassinets Recalled

baby sleeping in a bassinet

Almost 500,000 bassinets made by Burlington Basket Company have been recalled. They pose a fall risk to infants and 10 incidents have been reported so far.

The defective bassinets were sold at Walmart and other retailers and online from January 2003 through August 2010. If the cross-bracing rails are not in a fully locked position, the bassinets can collapse, causing infants to fall to the floor or fall within the bassinet. The Consumer Product Safety Commission has received 10 reports in which a bassinet collapsed when the folding legs weren't locked into place. Two infants were injured.

Consumers are advised to stop using the bassinets immediately and make sure the cross-bracing rails are in the locked position. They should contact Burlington Basket Company for a free kit with detailed instructions on proper assembly.
