As the New Year begins, I think it's a good time to remind people of a resolution everyone should make: to renew and review their car insurance. The Insurance Research Council has found that hundreds of thousands of drivers have dropped their insurance in the past year, mostly due to rising unemployment. I know that this may seem like a reasonable way to save money, but I have seen first-hand the problems that arise when a driver doesn't have coverage or doesn't have adequate coverage.
Over 2 million cribs sold by Evenflo, Delta Enterprise Corp., and five other manufacturers have been recalled. There are concerns that babies can suffocate, become trapped, or fall from the cribs.
Campbell Soup Co. is recalling 15 million pounds of SpaghettiOs with meatballs. A cooker malfunctioned at one of the company's plants and left the meat undercooked which may pose a food poisoning risk.
A recently published Governors Highway Safety Association (GHSA) report shows that Pennsylvania is making progress in the fight against distracted driving. GHSA spokesman John Adkins commented that PA "is doing a lot of the right things" by educating motorists about the dangers of distracted drivers.
