Don’t Drink and Drive Community Service Efforts in Pennsylvania
Throughout the years, our law firm has become well-known for taking a stand against drinking and driving. Each year – especially throughout the holiday season – Edgar Snyder & Associates strives to remind the public about the dangers of drinking and driving.
Save A Life Tour
Edgar Snyder & Associates sponsored the Save A Life Tour with the Westmoreland Drug and Alcohol Commission as it traveled to Greensburg Salem High School on April 12, 2012. The Save a Life Tour uses a first-of-its-kind, multi-million dollar DUI simulator to help students get a realistic look at the impaired judgment and delayed reaction time that alcohol causes. The simulator is the same kind used to train pilots, generals and personnel in the Air Force, Navy, Marines, and Army. It reacts to each student’s size and weight differently and maneuvers like a drunk driver over 80 miles of roadways, including changing weather conditions. The assembly also includes graphic, realistic videos of actual DUI accidents and emergency room scenes — striking an emotional chord with students and triggering a powerful visual image that sticks with them long after the program.
WTAE-TV aired a video of the Save A Life Tour presentation.
It is Edgar Snyder & Associates’ hope that students who see the program will truly understand how drunk driving ruins lives, decide to always drive sober, and to never get into a car with someone who is under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Blair Countians for Drug-Free Communities: Community Advocate Award
In recognition of the seasonal holiday and prom Don’t Drink and Drive media campaigns sponsored by Edgar Snyder & Associates, Attorney Edgar Snyder was honored with the 2006 Community Advocate Award from the Blair Countians, a coalition of citizens fighting for a drug free community. The award is given to an individual or organization that actively promotes awareness and educates the community about the prevention of alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs.
Take A Cab in Blair County / Altoona
This program provides free cab rides home on New Year’s Eve for party goers in Blair County who have had too much to drink. Take A Cab is sponsored in conjunction with WTAJ-TV and Pyramid Healthcare. In over 10 years of its existence, hundreds of drivers have been safely driven home. Not one single fatality has occurred in the county during the New Year’s Eve celebrations since this program began. Blair County residents can call

That’s What Friends Are For in Erie
Another "Don’t Drink & Drive" campaign targets residents in the Erie County area. This program is sponsored in part with WJET-TV. The station airs commercials throughout the holiday season urging friends not to let friends drink and drive. After all, "That’s What Friends Are For."
Holiday Mocktails
Each year, we invite you to serve up holiday cheer without alcohol. Visit our Holiday Mocktails web page.
Don’t Drink and Drive Advertising
Television
Edgar Snyder & Associates runs public service announcements on various TV stations urging viewers to have a happy and safe holiday season by choosing not to drink and drive. We place ads during peak party times that include Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, winter holidays, and New Year’s.
We run special "Dangers of Drinking" ads at prom and graduation time. Because too many of our teenagers believe they’re invincible, Edgar Snyder & Associates educates this age group about the dangers of drinking and driving. It’s important to have a good time during prom and graduation, but students should also be sure they have a future: "Think – Don’t Drink!"
Radio
Our law firm doesn’t just fight drunk driving through our TV ads – Edgar Snyder can often be heard on the radios of western and central Pennsylvania residents throughout the winter and summer holiday seasons, delivering a strong anti-drunk driving message.
Online
Our law firm also creates online advertisements to encourage safe driving. Banner ads and other advertising images can be seen on local news station websites around the holidays, as well as during the prom and graduation season. These ads remind drivers to put safety first and never get behind the wheel while intoxicated.
Billboards
Where else to make an impact on the dangers of drinking and driving than when you’re actually on the road? Edgar Snyder & Associates and Lamar Outdoor Advertising team up during the holiday season to discourage drunk driving with billboards posted throughout the greater Erie, Pittsburgh, Johnstown, and Altoona areas.

Road Radio USA School Assemblies
Edgar Snyder & Associates sponsored this traveling school assembly program aimed at preventing underage drinking and drunk driving. Road Radio USA targeted young teens at schools in Pittsburgh, Erie, Altoona, Ebensburg, Johnstown, and beyond. Through an innovative mix of popular music, dazzling video, and a strong message, Road Radio’s mission was to convince students that it’s NOT okay to drive drunk.
Scholarship Contest to Fight Underage Drinking and Driving
Every year, our law firm awards scholarships to Pennsylvania high school seniors who compete in our "Words to be Heard" contest. We ask graduating students from Pittsburgh, Johnstown/Altoona, and Erie to submit projects outlining the best methods to teach the dangers of underage drinking and drunk driving, as well as texting while driving, to their peers.
