Sandy Snyder Honored With Media Association of Pittsburgh Achievement Award
Sandy Snyder, Marketing Director for Edgar Snyder & Associates, received the Outstanding Achievement in Media Award for 2007 from the Media Association of Pittsburgh. The Media Association award honors Ms. Snyder’s contributions to legal advertising, and for her work in making her husband, Attorney Edgar Snyder, a familiar face throughout Western Pennsylvania. Edgar Snyder & Associates, a law firm representing injured people, has office locations in Altoona, Ebensburg, Erie, Johnstown and Pittsburgh.
Ms. Snyder’s marketing career spans three decades. She has a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Education from the University of Pittsburgh, as well as a MBA from Pitt’s Joseph M. Katz Graduate School of Business. After starting her marketing career at Thermal Industries, Ms. Snyder opened her own firm, Unique Marketing Services. In 1982, she began doing marketing work for Edgar Snyder & Associates and helped to expand the firm from a two-person operation to over 100 employees working in five office locations.
In addition to her professional endeavors, Ms. Snyder is passionate about giving back to the community. She has been a driving force behind Edgar Snyder & Associates’ efforts to battle drunk driving and underage drinking. She is also a member of the UPMC Cancer Institute Council, is committed to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation activities, and volunteers extensively for the Jewish community.
Sandy and her husband, Attorney Edgar Snyder, chaired Operation Promise, a program that provides relief efforts for Jews in Ethiopia and the former Soviet Union. They support a special fund to help poor and elderly Jews in the former Soviet Union and have created a similar program to help members of Pittsburgh’s Jewish community. PNC recently honored the Snyders with the Community Builders Award in recognition of their philanthropic efforts.
