11-yr-old Artist Wins $1,000 for Elementary School

Reporters and editors: Please respond to this e-mail if you wish me to send an attached scan of Brandon’s entry. We are also happy to arrange an interview with Brandon and his family, Attorney Edgar Snyder, or a representative of Conemaugh Twp. Intermediate School.

Eleven-year-old Brandon Driggs of Davidsville, Pa., was the grand-prize winning artist in the 4th Annual Edgar Snyder & Associates coloring contest. Brandon won a $250 Toys “R” Us gift card for a shopping spree, and a $1,000 donation to Conemaugh Twp. Intermediate School in Brandon’s honor to be used toward their new health and wellness center. Attorney Geoffrey Casher of Edgar Snyder & Associates Ebensburg office, presented Brandon and Conemaugh Twp. Intermediate School with their $1,000 check on November 14 at an assembly held in Brandon’s honor.

This year’s coloring contest theme was “The Best Winter Day Ever!” Brandon drew a snowman and a snowwoman standing under the mistletoe with the caption “The one who makes your heart melt!” This drawing made our hearts melt and is featured on the cover of the Edgar Snyder & Associates 2007 holiday card.

Edgar Snyder & Associates invited elementary schools in the Western Pennsylvania area to participate in the coloring contest. Runners-up who won $100 toy store gift cards include: 8-year-old Jenna Beam of Pittsburgh, Pa., 8-year-old Tori Hartman of Coraopolis, Pa., and 11-year-old Shalyn Patterson of Elizabeth, Pa.

“When we send our clients and colleagues holiday greetings, we want it to bring a smile to our friends’ faces. So instead of ordering a corporate greeting card, we asked the children to submit their artwork for a coloring contest,” said Attorney Edgar Snyder. “Over the past 25 years, my law firm has represented over 30,000 injured people including children who were hurt in all types of accidents. We continually see how devastating this can be for children and their families. We hope that this coloring contest helped children in some small way by spreading good cheer as well as supporting a great school.”
