Recalled Ice Cream Sold in Western Pennsylvania

Allergic reactions from ice cream Check the treats in your freezer – a Cleveland, Ohio ice cream company has recalled one of its products, announced the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. Pierre’s Ice Cream is recalling its Homestyle Dutch Chocolate Ice Cream sold in Western PA, Ohio, Indiana, and Michigan because it may contain undeclared peanut butter cup candies.

People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to peanuts are at risk for developing life-threatening reactions if this batch of Homestyle Dutch Chocolate is consumed. The ice cream was sold in a purple 56 fl oz package with the code 07320 printed on the rim of the lid.

The ice cream reached consumers in Western Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana, and Michigan through retail stores. The packaging does not reveal the presence of peanut butter candy or peanuts on the label.
