Wegmans Expands Bagel Recall

Wegmans Food Markets, Inc. has expanded a recall
of in-store made bagels and bialys. The recall now includes Challah
bread and in-store baked bagels, bialys, and rolls.
The recalled items were sold in the Wegmans bakery department in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Virginia, and Maryland from June 19 to September 11, 2008. The recall was initiated because a metal mixer part may have gotten into the dough, posing a choking hazard to consumers. The problem was discovered after a customer filed a complaint.
Wegmans estimates that about 100,000 baked goods are involved in the recall. The following products are affected:

The recall does not include packaged bread and rolls sold in the commercial bakery section of Wegmans' stores or in the dairy or frozen food sections.
