Possible Food Poisoning at Hoss’s

November 2006

Following a birthday party held at Hoss’s Steak & Sea House in Pleasant Hills, PA, twenty people became sickened. Those who attended the Nov.18 party at the restaurant suffered symptoms of vomiting and diarrhea.

The Allegheny County Health Department inspected the facility on Nov. 22 and is still awaiting test results to see if the food-borne illnesses were a result of the food served at Hoss’s or the cake and vegetables the patrons brought with them. No one other than the partygoers got sick.

Symptoms of food-borne illnesses include:

  • Abdominal cramps
  • Nausea
  • Vomiting
  • Diarrhea
  • Fever
  • Dehydration
