Dangerous Drugs Get FDA Approval

According to Consumer Reports, not all prescription drugs approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) are safe. The magazine states that 12 commonly used drugs have some serious side effects.
The side effects of each drug vary but include serious ailments such as depression, permanent bone loss, kidney damage, high blood pressure, and a greater risk of developing cancer.

Consumer Reports recommends that patients taking high-risk drugs consult a doctor to check whether the risks outweigh the benefits and if there are any other treatment options.
