Toy Helicopters Recalled

November 2006

Make sure the Helix Remote Control Micro Helicopter by Spin Master Toys is not on your holiday shopping list. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) recalled 46,200 of the remote-control helicopters due to an overheating risk.

Spin Master has received several reports of the power supply controller overheating, posing a fire risk and burn hazard to consumers. The recall involves helicopters with date codes 06XXXXHM2, 06XXXXHM8, and 06XXXXHM186. These codes can be found on a sticker on the bottom of the helicopter’s body and on the inside of the controller’s battery compartment.

The remote-controlled helicopters were sold in national retail stores from July to November 2006. Consumers should discontinue use immediately and contact Spin Master Toys at (800) 622-8339.
