Ryobi Radial Saws Recalled
July 2006
Five reports of finger lacerations has prompted Ryobi Motor Products Corp. and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) to recall 145,000 Ryobi Radial Arm Saws.
Cracking of the plastic motor housing can cause the blade assembly to fall during use resulting in lacerations of fingers. The detachment usually occurs unexpectedly and without warning.
The “Ryobi 8 ¼ Radial Arm Saw” recall includes all RA200 and RA202 models. The saws were sold at home and hardware stores nationwide from 1986 through 1997. Consumers should stop using the saws and contact Ryobi customer service at 1-800-525-2579.
