Retailers Recall Holiday Products and More
April 2007
Beware of dangerous products that could harm you or the people you care
about. Wal-Mart has announced a nationwide recall of its Disney
Princesses Easter Baskets due to silver beads and ribbons that could
detach from the product and pose a choking danger to young children.
Another product being recalled is Chanukah Oil Candles with Jelled Extra Virgin Olive Oil. Eight consumer reports have confirmed that the candles may become engulfed in flames, melting away the holding cups and leaking out hot wax. Ahron’s Judaica distributed the product nationwide to Jewish specialty stores.
Other non-holiday recalls affect major retail chains. Target has announced a recall of Little Tree Wood Activity Cart Toys. Small plastic hubcaps may detach from its wheels, posing a choking hazard to young children. Dollar General is recalling almost 400,000 metal key chains due to high levels of lead contained in the product. Threat of lead poisoning may come from flip flop, dangling charms, or alphabet letter key chains.
