Children's Sandals, Necklaces, and Music Players Recalled

October 2008

Music players recalled for high lead levels Recalls have been announced for several children's products, all of which pose a safety hazard to young consumers. Rack Room Shoes is recalling over 10,000 pairs of girls' sandals because they pose a choking hazard. Tween Brands, Inc. is recalling about 12,000 necklaces, CD players, and MP3 players because they may contain excessive levels of lead that could result in lead poisoning.

The 11,000 pairs of sandals affected by the recall have ornamental flowers that can detach and be swallowed by children. The shoes were sold under the Kids Feet name in sizes five through 12. They can be taken back to stores for a refund or store credit.

The necklaces, CD players, and MP3 players were sold at Limited Too and Justice Stores nationwide. The recall involves a ball and heart necklace with pink beads of different sizes and a pink heart located in the center; blue and pink portable CD players decorated with flowers and dots; pink MP3 players with pink with purple, green, blue, yellow, and red hearts; and a light blue MP3 player with a monkey's face on the front. The products can be returned to any Limited Too or Justice store.
