Children's Storage Bins Recalled for Violating Lead Paint Standard
May 2008
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has announced the recall
of 84,000 Children's Storage Bins sold at Lowe's stores nationwide. The
bins violate the federal lead paint standard and present a safety hazard
to consumers.
The recalled bins are wooden with scalloped edges and were sold in pastel green or pink. Item number 226782 or 226781 is located on the bottom of the storage bin. Surface paint on the bins can contain excessive levels of lead. No other storage bins or colors are affected by the recall.
The children's bins were manufactured by Magus Industry Co. Ltd. of Taiwan and were imported by L G Sourcing, Inc. of North Wilkesboro, N.C. They were sold from March 2007 through February 2008. Consumers are advised to immediately stop using the product.
