Paintball Kit Recalled after Users Injured

February 2006

It hasn’t been all fun and games for the users of a defective Brass Eagle paintball kit. Blade Turbo and Paintball Breakout Players Kits were recalled after reports that a defective carbon dioxide cartridge can forcibly eject out the back of the paintball marker, breaking the plastic cap. The defective paintball cartridges caused at least 73 incidents and seven injuries, prompting the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission to issue a recall.

Reported injuries from this serious risk include eye injuries, facial bruises and lacerations. The Blade Turbo was sold at Wal-Mart, Kmart and sporting goods stores nationwide from January 2005 through January 2006. The Paintball Breakout Players Kit was sold at Wal-Mart from October 2005 through January 2006.

Consumers should stop using the recalled paintball kits immediately and contact Brass Eagle at 1-866-363-8241 for a free replacement part.
