Olympus Expands Camera Recall

September 2006

Two Olympus camera models have been added to a previous recall in March of this year. Due to a defect in the flash circuit, the camera may smoke and overheat when it is turned on. An additional 24,000 cameras have been added to the recall now affecting 1.2 million cameras.

Olympus cameras in the recall include:

  • Infinity Twin
  • AF-1 Twin
  • Infinity Zoom 200 series
  • AZ 200 series
  • Quantary Infinity Zoom 222
  • Infinity Zoom 76
  • Promaster Infinity Twin

Consumers should stop using the cameras and contact Olympus at 1-800-480-1247 for a free repair or replacement.
