Michelin Recalls Tires
January 2006
Michelin recalled 6,500 tires in the U.S. and Canada after quality standards were not up to par.
Michelin Pilot Sport 255/35ZR20 97Y Extra Load tires may experience a rapid loss of air pressure because of a blister on the sidewall. The loss of air pressure could result in loss of control and cause cars to crash.
The recalled tires’ markings are:
- FHPNEFMX 00
- FHPNEFMX 01
- FHPNEFMX 02
- FHPNEFMX 03
- FHPNEFMX 05
The majority of the tires recalled were sold in the U.S. with only about 400 distributed in Canada. The tires were fitted as standard equipment on Jaguar XJ8 vehicles and also available as replacements.
