JCPenney Arizona Infant Jeans Recall
November 2008
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and J.C. Penney
Corporation have announced a recall
of 24,000 Arizona® Newborn and Infant Denim Pants. The clothing poses a
safety hazard to infants.
It was found that the metal snap at the waist of the pants can detach, and if this occurs, a baby can choke on the faulty part. The recall affects Arizona® brand newborn and denim pants for boys and girls. They were sold in sizes 0-3 months, 3-6 months, and 6-9 months. Only pants made in Bangladesh are included in the recall. The country of origin is printed on a label sewn into the waistband.
The denim pants were sold at JCPenney stores nationwide and on the store's web site from July 2008 through October 2008. Consumers should immediately stop using the infant clothing and return the jeans to a JCPenney store for a full refund.
