Finger Injury Spurs IKEA Furniture Recall

August 2006

IKEA Home Furnishings and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) recalled 100,000 sofa and chair beds. The voluntarily recall comes after a report of a finger tip amputation from a consumer using the product.

The LYCKSELE chair and sofa beds article numbers recalled include:

  • 700-326-82 chair bed
  • 900-326-81 sofa bed

The date stamp on the recalled products should read 0526 and earlier. The date stamp and the article number is found on the white sticker on the underside of the furniture.

Consumers with the recalled LYCKSELE sofa and chair beds sold at IKEA should call or visit their local store to receive a safety cover that prevents finger tips from getting caught. For more information, call 1-888-966-4532.
