Laptop Batteries Recalled for Fire Hazard

An important alert for laptop users – Gateway Computers has issued an
immediate recall for 14,000 notebook computer batteries. The lithium-ion
battery packs can overheat, posing a severe fire risk.
The items shipped as either primary or spare battery packs for Gateway 400VTX or 450ROG model laptops. Part numbers 500760 and 6500761 are the only battery pack models affected by this recall.
To continue use of a 400VTX or 450ROG notebook computer safely, turn off the computer, remove the battery pack, and turn the computer back on using power only from the AC adapter and the power cord.
