Burn Risk Ignites Easy-Bake Oven Recall

July 2007

Burns from Easy-Bake Ovens Parents – an alert has been issued for a dangerous toy that could burn or even maim your child. Hasbro Inc. has initiated a recall for 1 million Easy-Bake Ovens due to a risk that could trap a child’s fingers or cause potentially serious burns.

A previous product warning has now been upgraded to a full product recall as 249 children have caught their fingers in Easy-Bake Ovens, 77 have sustained burns, and one 5-year-old girl had her finger partially amputated.

The Easy-Bake Ovens in question carry the model number 65805 and have “Hasbro” stamped on the back. Only ovens sold between May 2006 and July 2007 are subject to this recall. The toys were sold at KB Toys, Target, Toys “R” Us, Wal-Mart and other national retail outlets.
