Easy-Bake Ovens Recalled For Burn Hazards
February 2007
Your child’s Easy-Bake Oven may be heating up more than just cakes. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and Hasbro Inc. recalled 985,000 Easy-Bake Ovens due to entrapment and burn hazards. The oven should be taken away from children under the age of 8.
Easy-Bake received 29 reports of children getting their hands and fingers stuck in the opening, including five reports of burns. The oven is made of pink and purple plastic and “Easy Bake” is printed on the front. The recalled oven model number is 65805.
The Easy Bake Oven was sold at Toys R Us, Wal-Mart, Target, KB Toys and other retailers from May 2006 through February 2007. Ovens sold before May 2006 are not included in the recall.
