Brookstone Recalls Bed Rests
April 2006
A product meant to provide comfort has been recalled after causing pain. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced a voluntarily recall of 35,500 Brookstone Massaging Bed Rests after receiving reports of overheating.
The bed rest is beige and has a back, two foldable armrests with a cup holder and massage controls. There is a headrest with a reading light attached. The massaging bed rest also has a setting for heat. “Imported by Brookstone Company” is printed on its tag. The electrical circuits within the massager can overheat causing the back side of the product to overheat, posing a fire and burn hazard.
Consumers should discontinue use immediately and contact Brookstone at 888-318-7455 for a free replacement bed rest.
