Is Your RV Safe for a Summer Vacation?
July 2007
Summer is a great time to go on road trip vacations with family and
friends, especially in the comfort of a mobile home. But certain RV
models have been recalled this summer season for serious safety hazards
that could lead to accident, injury, and even death.
The 2008 Fleetwood Jamboree and 2008 Fleetwood Tioga have been recalled for a wheel defect that could lead to dangerous accidents. When installed on the front axle, the vehicle’s spare tire may come into contact with the brakes and cause premature wheel failure. This wheel failure could result in loss of vehicle control or a serious accident.
The 2007 Four Winds Magellan and 2007 Four Winds Windsport have been recalled for a hazardous gas distribution defect. Propane supplied to the appliances in the slide-out kitchen may pass through an improperly routed or supported gas line in the RV. This could cause a fire or an explosion in the mobile home that could lead to serious bodily injury, or even worse, death.
