Honda to Recall Civic Hybrid Sedans
February 2007
Honda Motor Co. has announced a global recall of over 45,000 of its Civic Hybrid Sedans, manufactured September 2005 to September 2006. These vehicles have an electrical defect that may disable the engine.
Certain Civic Hybrid Sedans may have defective voltage converters. These faulty components are prone to short circuiting, causing the engine to stop running. Once stopped, the defect prevents the engine from restarting.
Although Japanese owners will be contacted by mail, Honda currently has not outlined a specific plan for the recall and repair of vehicles sold in the United States.
