Ford Recalls 3.6 Million More Vehicles

Massive Ford recall The Ford Motor Company continues to expand one of the largest vehicle recalls ever as it adds 3.6 million more cars, trucks, SUVs, vans, and motor homes to the growing list. The recall is due to a faulty cruise control switch that can overheat and lead to fires.

The recall pertains to vehicles made from 1992 to 2004. Previous recalls for the same defect affected nearly 6 million cars. If brake fluid leaks onto the cruise-control-switch system, it could corrode and overheat, possibly leading to a vehicle fire.

Ford stated that its Crown Victoria model did have incidents of fire related to the cruise control defect before this recall, but did not say how many fires had been reported.
