Chrysler Issues Recall on Nearly 600,000 Dodge Vehicles
December 2007
Chrysler announced that it is recalling 576,417 trucks and SUVs
following concerns that the vehicles could shift out of park without the
key in the ignition.
The recall includes 2001-2002 Dodge Dakota trucks and Dodge Durango sport utility vehicles (SUVs). The recall also includes the 2002 Dodge Ram pickup.
Owners will be notified in January 2008 to have dealers replace the gearshift blocker and bracket assembly. Chrysler is advising owners to use the parking brake at all times until the parts are replaced.
