Honda Motors Recalls ATVs
January 2008
American Honda Motor Company has announced a recall of their 2007 TRX
500 model ATVs. The throttles of the recalled units can malfunction,
posing the risk of death or injury to ATV riders.
The quads involved in the recall were sold at Honda ATV dealers throughout the United States from June 2006 through December 2007. The Honda name and wing logo are printed on the fuel tank of the ATVs and the TRX 500 model name is printed on the side panel just below the seat.
The recall was initiated in response to a defect that allows the throttle of the TRX 500 to become stuck in an open position, potentially leading to injury or death. Two serious incidents of throttle malfunction have been reported to date. Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled TRX 500 ATVs.
