Kawasaki ATVs Recalled

August 2005

All Terrain Vehicle (ATV) accidents are on the rise, but riders now have even more reason for concern. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced that Kawasaki has voluntarily recalled 2001-2005 Prairie and Brute Force All-Terrain Vehicles (ATVs).

Kawasaki received 42 reports about loss of steering control due to front wheel suspension damage. About 155,000 Kawasaki ATVs are affected by the recall, including the following models:

  • Prairie 300
  • Prairie 300 4X4
  • Prairie 360
  • Prairie 360 4X4
  • Brute Force 650 4X4
  • Prairie 400
  • Paririe 400 4X4
  • Prairie 650 4X4
  • Prairie 700 4X4

Drivers currently using the recalled Kawasaki ATVs could suffer injury or death.Consumers are advised to stop using the ATVs immediately and contact their Kawasaki dealer for a free repair. Registered owners of the ATVs will also be notified directly by Kawasaki. For more information on the recall, call Kawasaki toll-free at (866)802-9381.
