Delaware Motorcycle Helmet Law

In Delaware, all motorcycles operators and riders must have in their possession a safety helmet, but only operators and riders 18 and younger must wear actually wear the helmet. Safety helmets must be approved by the Secretary of Safety and Homeland Security, through the Office of Highway Safety.
All drivers and operators, however, regardless of age, must wear eye protection.
Delaware’s Secretary of the Department of Public Safety is in charge of approving the design of helmets and eye protection.
Because regulations are subject to change, it’s best to check with the Secretary of Safety before riding on a motorcycle in Delaware.
