Michigan Motorcycle Helmet Law

In Michigan, all motorcycle operators and riders must wear helmets that have been approved by the state police.To make sure your helmet is an approved type, it's best to check with the state police before taking to Michigan roadways on a motorcycle.

The only exception to Michigan's mandatory helmet law is for those driving or riding in an "autocycle" that is equipped with a roof that meets or exceeds the helmet standard.
