Botulism Found in Organic Baby Food

The specific apple peach barley variety is sold in individual jars, 12 packs, and as part of the Earth's Best Organic 2 Wholesome Breakfast Variety Pack. Earth's Best is distributed through stores specializing in health food products, food retail outlets, and all Babies"R"Us and Toys"R"Us locations. The product was recalled by the manufacturer, Hain Celestial Group, on February 9, 2007.
Symptoms of Botulism Poisoning
About 100 cases of botulism are reported in the United States every year. Infants account for the majority of infections. Symptoms typically begin within 18 to 36 hours, but may appear as soon as six hours and as late as 10 days from the time of exposure.
