Kentucky Car Seat and Booster Seat Laws
Rear-Facing Car Seat
Law states no preference.
Car Seat
Children 40 inches or less in height must be properly restrained in an appropriate child safety seat.
Booster Seat
Children ages 6 and under who are between 40 and 50 inches in height must use a booster seat.
Seat Belt
- Children ages 15 and under must be restrained in the vehicle.
- Children ages 6 and under who are taller than 50 inches are permitted to be restrained in a safety belt.
Seating Position
Law states no preference.
