Georgia Car Seat and Booster Seat Laws

Rear-Facing Car Seat
Law states no preference.
Car Seat
Children under age 8 or 57 inches or less in height must be in safety seat in a rear seat if available.
Booster Seat
Children under age 8 or 57 inches or less in height must be in safety seat in a rear seat if available.
Seat Belt
- Children over 57 inches in height may be restrained in a seat belt.
- Children over 40 pounds may be restrained in a seat belt.
Seating Position
Children 8 years and younger or who are under “57″ tall must be in a rear seat if available.
