Law states no preference.

Car Seat

Children ages 7 and under and weighing less than 80 pounds must be properly restrained in an appropriate child safety seat or booster seat in the backseat if available.

Booster Seat

Children ages 7 and under and weighing less than 80 pounds must be properly restrained in an appropriate child safety seat or booster seat in the backseat if available.

Seat Belt

  • Children ages 7 and who weigh more than 80 pounds.
  • Children ages 8 through 17.

Seating Position

Children 7 years and younger who weigh less than 80 pounds must be in the rear seat if available.

Fines & Penalties

Maximum fine for first offense is $25 plus court fees.
